1st Meeting of the Year for NMS PTA

The NMS PTA will hold its first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 7, in the NMS Media Center at 7 PM.

6th Grade Open House -- In 1 Week 8/30

Grade 6 Open House, Orientation & Ice Cream Social -- In 1 Week Next Tuesday 8/30 at 6:30 PM in NMS Auditorium

Grade 6 Open House/Orientation will be held at the Nichols Middle School on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at 6:30 PM.  This will be 6th Grade parents' opportunity with your child to see the school and meet his/her teachers.  We look forward to seeing you there.  At this event, we will be introducing you to our assistant principals, our sixth grade teachers, other important personnel, and myself.  

We will start the evening at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium, and then you will be led to your child’s teacher team for introductions there on the sixth grade floor, to finish in the cafeteria for an ice cream social, sponsored by our NMS PTA.

PS -- Our Open House for Grades 7 and 8 Parents will be Tuesday, September 20, at 6:30 PM.

2016-2017 Homeroom Lists Are Posted Near Front Door

Team Assignments Posted on August 23

This is just a reminder to let all parents know that Homeroom and Teacher Team Assignments will be posted outside the Main Entrance on the glass of the Nichols on Tuesday, August 23, for all students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade this coming year.

There is no rush to come and see them in the morning, for they will be up through the first day of school on Tuesday, September 6.

Soon Enough … We Will Be Back in Business

Long time, no hear . . . I know.

It has been a busy summer wrapping up the 2015-2016 school year, taking some time off, going to conferences, coaching some baseball, and trying to piece together all the things we need to get done so we are ready for your (and our) children to start of our new school year, beginning on Tuesday, September 6.

Just a short reminder:  Please pass on to new 6th Grade Parents how they should register for an email update whenever this blog is updated.  Just have them enter their email address to the right, where it says: "Follow by Email." Then Click Submit.

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable, restful, and relaxing summer.  There is still time left to enjoy it; though, if you watch TV or made your way to any stores, all the "back to school" ads and goods on sale are in full swing.  

But I do need to tell you about some of the news we have to start the school year off right:  

Our plan is on Tuesday, August 23, we will be posting Homeroom Assignments on the windows of the school for students in all grades and parents to see which team their child is on.  I will send out a Blackboard Connect message to confirm this around the 23rd.
