Make Sure You Get to "Bye Bye Birdie" Before It's Gone

2 Shows Remaining

Broadway just made its way down Tiger Drive!

What a fantastic show we had here at the Nichols Middle School tonight.

Make sure you get yourself to one of the two remaining shows of "Bye Bye Birdie" by our very own Nichols Middle School students.

I am always so amazed at how well our students can do putting on the shows we do.  This one will not disappoint.  The time, effort, and devotion of these students to do the job they do is phenomenal.

The acting, dancing, singing, sets, costumes, all of it was tremendous!

Ms. Young did a fabulous job getting all of our students prepared for the show.

AWESOME JOB BY ALL!

Two Shows Remaining

NMS Musical 2016 "Bye Bye Birdie" 12/9 & 12/10

Bye Bye Birdie Press Release

The Nichols Middle School Musical/Drama Club will present the Young Performers’ Edition of “Bye Bye Birdie” on December 9th and 10th at the Nichols Middle School Auditorium.

Showtimes are:
Friday, December 9th at 7 PM
And
Saturday, December 10th at 3 PM for an Afternoon Matinee
And
Saturday, December 10th at 7 PM.

All tickets are $5, general admission, and are only available at the door.

The performance will last approximately 1 hour and is suitable for all ages.

Bye Bye Birdie takes us to Sweet Apple, Ohio, in 1957, where recently drafted teen heartthrob, Conrad Birdie, has come to give “One Last Kiss” to Kim MacAfee, a member of his fan club before he leaves for the Army.

This high energy show will get your feet tapping along as you “Put on a Happy Face.”

You’ll leave the performance thinking about “One Last Kiss” for “One Boy;” those crazy “Kids” who have “A Lot of Livin’ to do!” and Albert singing about the lovely “Rosie” who stole his heart.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Main Office or Ms. Beth Anne Young or Ms. Eliza Thornton.

We hope to see you at the Show!

NMS 2016 Movember Champion is Crowned -- Mr. Donovan

A Champion is Crowned in Movember for Mr. Donovan

In a hotly contested battle, the red beard overtook the challenge once again of Mr. Minarovich.

In three years of Movember Competitions, Mr. Minarovich has been a Runner-Up twice and always a finalist.  But ...

Mr. Donovan is our 2016 NMS Movember Champion.

Mr. Donovan expressing his humility as he was announced Movember Champion.

Mr. Donovan is our In-School Suspension monitor and substitute teacher extraordinaire.  One can find him on a Monday in 8th Grade ELA, Tuesday in PE, Wednesday in 6th Grade Math, and Thursday supporting our students in the cafeteria for all three lunches.  He gets around the building and has a reputation of being a positive influence for our students, but it is his hirsute upper lip and chin that gave him the Championship.

Third Place was taken by 2015's Movember Champion and 7th Grade Math Teacher, Mr. Candler.  Fourth Place by Mr. Geoghegan, and Fifth Place by 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher Mr. Rothemich.

The non-Finalists/Runner-Ups were:  Mr. Jesman, Mr. Rader, Mr. Perry, and Mr. Thomas.

A good time was had by all.

Mr. Donovan decided on The Boys and Girls Club of America that he would like to see all the money raised sent.

Thank you to all the teachers who made this contest possible for the month of November, and for all our students, who donated the votes.
