NMS Participants for Jr. SEMSBA
Junior SEMSBA (South Eastern Massachusetts School Bandmaster's Association) is an opportunity for advanced music students in grades 7-9 to audition for participation in a Music Festival. Participation in the Festival includes a day and a half of rehearsal culminating in a concert of orchestra, concert band, treble and mixed chorus. Our NMS SEMSBA participants auditioned in February and were selected based on their superior scores in accuracy, tone quality, musicality, and sight reading ability. The Junior Festival will be held this year at the recently renovated Rockland High School, with two concerts Saturday, May 4th: Choruses at 1PM; Band and Orchestra at 2:30PM. The students, who qualified, are (clockwise from the front of the triangle in picture below): Olivia Benson in Violin, John Boersdamm in Baritone Horn, Alex Cassady in Trombone, Noah Yeskewicz in Percussion, Liam Bingham-Maas in Trumpet, and Brian Gallagher in Chorus.
