Tue March 20^th 2:30-4:30 (be prepared for indoor & outdoor tryouts).

Wed March 21^st       3:30 – 5:30 (be prepared for indoor & outdoor tryouts).

Thu  March 22^nd     2:30 – 4:30

*All Players must sign up online through the Middleboro Public School Website & have a current Physical on file with the school nurse to tryout!!

*Players can only use BBCore drop 3 bats & no metal spikes allowed.

NMS Spring Baseball & Softball Info

Registering for NMS Spring Baseball/Softball

• Tryouts start Monday March 19th right after school.  (Students should be prepared for indoor or outdoor practice)

  

• All students must have a valid physical (within 13 months) on file with the nurse prior to tryouts. * This means that the physical needs to be to the Nurse (Ms. Bertram prior to Monday.  Nurse Bertram will not be here after-school on Monday, so please get your physical to her this week please.)

• Registration must be done through the district athletics website and then clicking on the familyID button prior to tryouts. Click Here for the Link.

• Students that make the team must then go back to the district athletics website to pay the user fee.

• Any questions can be directed toward Middleborough Athletic Director Ryan Sylvia rsylvia@middleboro.k12.ma.us.

NMS PTA Winter Carnival Rescheduled to Friday, 3/16 2:30-4:30

NMS PTA Winter Carnival Rescheduled

Friday, March 16, 2:30-4:30 PM

The NMS PTA Winter Carnival has been rescheduled to this Friday, March 16, to start right after school until 4:30 PM.

All students who have already paid the $5 entrance fee and brought in their permission slips are all set.

Any student who would like to sign up, permission slips are available in the Main Office.  Please have a parent sign the slip with $5.

February 2018 ROAR Award Winners Recognized

February 2018 ROAR Awards Handed Out

A few years ago, NMS began a new program, which recognizes students for achievement and positive school contributions each month.  The ROAR Award is given by each grade's cluster and Unified Arts to acknowledge students who have been Respectful, On-time,  (displaying a positive) Attitude, and Responsible.  The goal is to recognize students who not only take care of basic expectations in class but are good citizens and role models in our community.  Teachers and faculty get together and decide on two students, who are most deserving for each month of the school year.

We also connect the ROAR program with our TIGERS culture-building protocol.  We are specifically looking for students who are Trustworthy, have Integrity, are Generous, are Empathetic, are Responsible, and show Strength. 

Award winners receive a certificate, a TIGERS band, a coupon for a free book at the book fair, bumper stickers for their parents’ cars, and their individual picture displayed in the Main Office for the month.

The February award winners received their certificates from Mr. Geoghegan, Ms. Rae, and Mr. Thomas in a brief ceremony after Homeroom.  

The ROAR Award winners for February 2018 for each team were:

Grade 6 Adventurers:  Emma Albon and Jordan Hayes

Grade 6 Challengers:  Willow Murray and Devon Yavorski

Grade 7 Explorers:  Jason Burke and Eva Jenness

Grade 7 Beacons:  Alaster Ellis, Janeer Lassiter, and Megan Sargent

Grade 8 Apollos:  Joshua Murphy and Makayla Robicheau

Grade 8 Comets:  Ilanna Langton and John Morrissey

Unified Arts:  Julia D'Emilia (8th Grade) and Andrew Soule (7th Grade)

Congratulations to all!  Thank you for all your efforts; we appreciate how you are ROARing to an AWESOME school year as TIGERS!

NMS PTA's Meeting for March Will Be Thursday 3/8 at 7PM in Media Center

March Meeting of the NMS PTA

The NMS PTA will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 8, 2018, in the NMS Media Center at 7 PM. 

We moved the meeting from Wednesday to Thursday because of the impending storm.  Please come and help support NMS.  We will be talking about the plans for the rescheduled Winter Carnival and other important PTA happenings.

Hear from Mr. Geoghegan and hear about all the great things NMS PTA does to support all of our students year-round.

Come meet this helpful, supportive group of parents, who are working hard to make sure the Nichols Middle School is a sensational experience for each and every child.

We handed out Picture Day flyers last week. We have more in the Main Office.  Remind families that Picture Day is Wednesday, March 7 Families can see before they buy! Portrait proofs will be sent home after Picture Day.
