NMS PTA Brings David J. Flood for Presentations to All NMS Students on 10/13

Lessons Learned from Mr. Flood

On Thursday, October 13, Mr. David J. Flood presented to all NMS students in three separate grade presentations.

Mr. Flood held each grade's attention throughout his presentations as he mixed humor, real life situations, and his own experiences to help show our students that being a good person will make one's life a better experience.

One of his major points was that we need to be more of a positive influence for everyone and when we do, it will make us feel better.

He gave the students three challenges to help all of us out:

Challenge 1: Look on the Inside. Be aware of the decisions we make and what we do when we are with a group.  If we always look on the inside, we will make better decisions.

Challenge 2: Thank Two Adults in Your Lives. Look them in the eye as you do this.  The adults in the students' lives are sometimes forgotten to the children, so Mr. Flood wanted to make sure they are remembered and appreciated.

Challenge 3:  No One Should Eat Alone. Try to make sure that everyone has someone to eat with in the cafeteria.

Mr. Flood stressed to the students that when we do an "act of kindness" three people feel better: the person doing the act of kindness, the person with the act done to, and anyone who might see it.  We need to do good things for everyone.

Mr. Flood was a positive influence on all. We thank our NMS PTA for supporting programs such as this to bring him in for our students.
