NMS Spring Music Important Dates & Info





Important Band, Chorus & Orchestra Dates, Spring 2017, Grades 6, 7 & 8

Dear Band, Chorus and Orchestra Students and Families:

            Our spring music season is picking up speed! Below are a few reminders and some updated information for the Memorial Day Parade, the spring concerts, and 8th grade awards nights. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.



Marching Band, (grades 7 & 8): Memorial Day Parade: Monday, May 29, 2017.
  • Students are to arrive, in uniform, at 9:30. The parade steps off at 10AM
  • IMPORTANT:  Uniforms are to be returned to NMS on Tuesday, May 30th.
    • Please return HATS and UNIFORM BAGS with the uniform on Tues., May 30th


CHORUS (All Grades) Spring Concert: Monday, June 5th, 2017, 6:30PM @ MHS
  • Chorus students are to report to the Middleboro High School cafeteria at 6PM to warm-up
  • The Chorus concert begins at 6:30 and will conclude by 7:30
  • Concert attire: White top, black bottoms. (No tank tops. No skirts/shorts above the knee.)


ORCHESTRA (All grades) Spring Concert: Tuesday, June 6, 2017 6:30 PM
  • Orchestra students are to report to the NMS cafeteria at 6 PM to warm-up
  • The Orchestra concert begins at 6:30 and will conclude by 7:15
  • Concert attire: White top, black bottoms. (No tank tops. No skirts/shorts above the knee.)


BAND (All grades) Spring Concert: Tuesday, June 6, 2017 8 PM
  • Band students are to report to the cafeteria at 7:30 PM to warm-up
  • The Band concert begins at 8, and will conclude by 8:45.
  • Concert attire: White top, black bottoms. (No tank tops. No skirts/shorts above the knee.)


Grade 8:  8th Grade Awards Nights - 6 PM
o  Monday, June 19th for the Comets Team & Tuesday, June 20th for the Apollos Team
o   Please arrive by 5:45 PM to set up, warm-up and tune.
  • The 8th grade Band, Chorus & Orchestra will be perform at BOTH 8th grade award nights, as we have students on both teams. The Band and Orchestra will perform the processional as the team walks in and then join them on stage. The chorus will then perform a selection.
    • You are only expected to stay the whole evening on the night your team is being honored. On the other night you may go as soon as we finish performing (6:15 PM.)
    • Attire is “nice” casual clothes. Girls: Dress, skirt/slacks/blouse. Boys: Slacks, Button-down/Polo shirt. Please be mindful of the school dress code.
