NMS Winter Club Update -- NMS Art Club & Anime with Ms. Tucker

Wintertime in ART CLUB!
Update from Art Club Advisor
Ms. Tucker

The winter season has found NMS Art Club to be very popular and  busy! The Tuesday after school Art Club Program usually has anywhere from 35-50 students in attendance!

Fortunately, many facets of Art Club are student-led.  Seventh Grader, Skyla Hammond has the role of being the assistant teacher in art club, and she plans lessons, organizes materials and supervises clean-up. Young artist, Benjamin Medeiros, comes from the High School each week to lead a group in drawing and character development. Seventh grader, Stephanie Strew leads the Anime Group, where students study the art of Japanese cartooning. Most recently, grade eight student, Arianna Siciliano has been leading a group in watercolor, a medium that Arianna excels at and shares her enthusiasm.

Other students come to art club to work together on their sketchbooks, or theme-based projects, according to the season. Some arrive to work on graphics and posters for their other core subjects.  And of course ... many come to simply enjoy expressing themselves with art materials and forming friendships!

NMS Art Club is AMAZING!

Thanks, Ms. Tucker, for all you do for our students!
