3rd Quarter Report Cards Going Home Friday, April 26

Third Term Report Cards Issued Today, April 26

This afternoon an Alert Now message will go out to make sure that everyone knows that Report Cards for Third Quarter will be issued today, Friday, April 26.  They will go home with your child with a small sheet saying you received and saw the Report Card, which will need to be signed and returned to your child’s homeroom teacher on Monday, April 29.

I have said this before, but I will continue to say that:  Communication is a powerful tool in closing the gap between home and school and ensuring success for all of our students.  The marks that you find on the report card should never be a surprise to either you or your child.  If you feel that discussion regarding your child’s progress or lack of it is needed, please make an appointment to schedule a time that would offer both you and the teacher enough time to adequately discuss your child's present situation.  We are three-quarters of the way through the year, so we now have a pretty good idea about where your child may be as a student in each of her/his classes; there is only one quarter left to make sure the grades are where they need to be for your child.  Please pay attention to your child's studying practices, homework preparation, and what modifications everyone (including the student, teacher, and parent) could do to improve the situation.  We are here to help with any of this.

The fourth quarter is usually one of the more difficult times of year for all students:  the weather gets nicer, more students are participating in outside of school activities, and just a general feeling of being done sets in.  We need to make sure all students finish as strong as they started.  Please stay in contact with your child's teachers and counselor if you need any support with this.

A report card is only one communication component but it is not our only one, please continue to check this blog for updates.  If there are elements you find that we are not communicating to you, please let us know.  Again, we are here to help on this incredible educational journey for your child and you.

Thank you,
M. R. Geoghegan
