A Celebration of Scientific Proportions
On the evening of Wednesday, April 11, the 57th Annual NMS 7th Grade Science Fair was held in the John T. Nichols, Jr. Middle School gym and auditorium.
The night's festivities were hosted by NMS Science Department Chair, Mr. Scott Redpath, and by our 7th Grade Science teachers, Mr. Steve Eddy and Ms. Cindy Kuhn.
The students displayed their scientific acumen through multiple means as they had a tri-fold board, report, lab notebook, and made a presentation. Everyone in attendance was dazzled by the incredible amount of time and effort students put in to making this night an amazing success.
Ms. Melanie Gates, STEM Coordinator Grades 6 through 12, said it best when she mentioned how the students showed the spirit and energy scientists display in proving their own hypotheses.

Principal Mr. Geoghegan awarded our 2013 NMS Science Fair Championship to Courtney Chane, who wowed the crowd with her project, while Runner-up, Evan Gwozdz, and Middleboro Trading Post Plant Award Winner, John Surrette, did not let anyone down. The judges had the most difficult time they had ever had in deciding on a champion; congratulations, Courtney.
