2017 61st Annual STEM Fair A Great SUCCESS

Such Impressive NMS STEM Students

On Tuesday, April 4, NMS was teeming with impressive Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math projects at the John T. Nichols, Jr. Middle School 61st Annual STEM (Science) Fair.

We changed how we do the Fair a few years ago, and even though our number of entries is smaller the quality of the projects has not disappointed.

This year we had students voluntary study and present on subjects such as Quantum Entanglements, Epigenetics, and Robotics.

Incredible ... I know.

When students are allowed to follow their passions, amazing results can most certainly occur.

It was an awesome night to celebrate student learning.

I want to thank Mr. Scott Redpath, our Science Department Leader, Dr. Melanie Gates, our 6-12 STEM Director, Ms. Amy Anderson, our Math Department Leader, and all of our Science Teachers, including Ms. Carmela Mayeski, our STEM teacher, and especially 6th Grade Science Teacher Ms. Jennie Gomes, for being here at the showing and Awards ceremony.

A special Thank You to Ms. Debbie Walgreen for hosting in the Media Center.

Congratulations to all the participants in the 61st annual Nichols Middle School S.T.E.M. Fair.
