Parent-Teacher & Student-Led
Conferences 4 to 6:30 PM
& Encore E-Cigarette
Presentation at 3:30 PM in Auditorium
An Alert-Now message went home to remind parents about of our Parent-Teacher and Student-Led Conferences are early evening, Thursday, April 16, from 4 to 6:30 PM.
Last year, we successfully piloted some Student-Led
Conferences in the Spring, and we have continued this practice this year in
pockets in the Fall and within all of our grade levels led
by our ELA2 teachers at each grade level.
Your children have worked hard to prepare for
these conferences; I hope you will come and listen to them as they explain for
you what they have learned, how they are doing, and what they need to continue
to work on.
We believe Student-Led Conferences put the student, your
child, at the center of his/her own learning. Your child will sit and
discuss with you how their learning is progressing and what they still need to
improve.
Research tells us that when we have the students at the center of their learning and give them a chance to explain it, they will achieve more. So please come and experience this with us.
We will also have our Spring Book Fair in the Media Center
and PTA will be selling goods and raffles outside the main hallway.
Also, prior to the Conferences, we have an encore
presentation from a member of the Southeast Tobacco-Free Community Partnership
to come and speak to parents and students at 3:30 PM, just prior to our
Parent-Teacher Student-Led Conferences in the Auditorium on e-cigarettes and
other student health issues.
Thank you and hope to see you tomorrow early evening Thursday, 4 to 6:30, and if you can at 3:30 for our e-cigarette presentation. We want you to see how successful your child has been and can continue to be.
