"Oh, the thinks you can think!" 

As schools and libraries across the country plan celebrations in honor of beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss’s birthday, the Nichols Middle School Drama Club, under the direction of Mrs. Beth Anne Young, is preparing “Seussical, Jr.” for their annual musical.Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical Jr., a fantastic musical extravaganza created by Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Seussical transports audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, as the Cat in the Hat, (played by Jessica Iraola), narrates the story of Horton the Elephant. Horton (Julia Masse), discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton becomes the unlikely hero of the Whos, as he protects them from destruction by a world of naysayers and dangers, and the caretaker of an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird (Erin Graham).  Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz (Ella Ferigno) never loses faith in him.  Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Seussical will be performed 3 times: 

March 18^th at 7PM, and March 19^th at 2PM & 7PM, in the Alan R. Lindsay Auditorium of the Nichols Middle School. Tickets are $5, general admission and will be available at the door.
