2017 NMS Cross-Country Team Season Recap by Coach Charbonneau

Great Season for NMS Girls and Boys Cross Country

The following is written by Coach Gabby Charbonneau, who did a sensational job again coaching our NMS Girls and Boys Cross Country teams this year. She is sensational in getting the best out of our kids. She has a positive way with them and these teams are easily the most inclusive and supportive in the building. I thank her, the team, the parents, Mr. Ryan Sylvia our AD, and everyone who worked so hard this year to make the Cross County season a success. Thank you.

Here is Coach Charbonneau:

The Nichols Middle School Cross Country Team had another successful season. This is the second year of the Nichols Cross Country program and as a coach I have been impressed with the numbers of the athletes that have joined each time as well as their dedication.  The team practiced 3 days a week and ran a Tri- Meet each week.

The girls had a great record of 5-4 this season.  Our top seven runners Meredith Connor, Julia Giovanoni, Emma Regan, Amelia Stebbins, Annie Shogan, Paige Maul, and Sarah Morrison helped lead their team to victories this season.   The girls faced some tough competition but held their own in each race.

The boys had a challenging season but their successes didn't show in their overall record, but there were many individual victories along the way.  So many of the boys made huge improvements with their times and became stronger in each one of their races.  Our lead runners were two 8th graders Noah Degrazia and John Morrissey. Our other top runners were Aidan Chin, Kalen Almeida, Malachy Pemberton and Riley Cook.

Congratulations to both boys and girls for a job well done this season!

I can’t wait to see how the team progresses this Spring!
