Please access the information below to assist with troubleshooting any issues you may be experiencing with our middle school mathematics program, digits. A variety of resources to assist you with digits can be found under the Nichols Middle School page, About Us, Mathematics, and then digits.


We have found that Chrome is the best browser to use when accessing digits. You will need to enable Flash and allow pop-ups, so please follow the directions below based upon the version of Chrome you are currently using.

What Version of Chrome Are You Using?

 
  1. Select the customize and control icon on the right of the url bar in Chrome.
  1. Select Help and then About Google Chrome.


  1. The next screen that appears will identify what version of the Chrome browser you are currently using. The most current version is version 62.

Enabling Flash in Chrome Version 62 (Newest Version)

  1. Log-in to digits and launch a homework assignment. When you do you may get the following message about Flash, “Adobe Flash Player is blocked.”
  2. In the upper left hand corner of the homework screen, click on Secure to the left of the url bar.
  1. From the dropdown that appears, scan down the options until you see Flash. The default setting is that Flash is blocked. Click on blocked next to Flash and select Always Allow on this Site. This will now enable Flash.


Enabling Flash in Chrome Version 61 and Lower



If you need to enable Flash within Chrome, please follow the steps below.
  1. Select the customize and control icon on the right of the url bar in Chrome.
  1. Select Settings.
  1. Once you click Settings, a new tab will open to give you access to customize and control features of the Chrome browser. Scroll to the bottom and select advanced. This will make additional options appear.
  2. Select Content Settings.


  1. Under content settings, select Flash.
  1. Enable (slide the button to be blue)“Allow sites to run Flash” and disable (slide the button to be gray) “Ask First”. It should look as follows.

Allow Pop-ups from a Site in Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Find a page that has pop-ups blocked for you.
  3. In the address bar, click Pop-up blocked Pop-up blocked.
  4. Click the link for the pop-up window you'd like to see.
  5. To always see pop-ups for the site, select Always allow pop-ups from [site] and then Done.


Accessing digits on Android Tablets and iPads



If you are using an Android tablet or iPad, please download the free app called Puffin Academy. Once the app is downloaded, open the portal and then search for digits by Pearson. Please install digits.
