2016 NMS NELMS Scholar Leaders Honored

Two NMS Tigers Honored as NELMS Scholar Leaders Dinner

Eighth grade students, Samuel Heroux and Keira McQuillan were both honored at the NELMS (New England League of Middle Schools) with COMMLE (Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middle Level Educators) Scholar Leaders Dinner on Tuesday, May 17, in Marlborough.

This program is intended to give public recognition to two students from each middle level school in New England, who have distinguished themselves in terms of outstanding scholarship and leadership. The selection of these two students, who are being recognized as representatives of all young adolescents who might qualify display all of the positive qualities we hope to see in all of Nichols Middle School students.  In polling the faculty, Sam and Keira were the clear representatives for NMS Scholar Leaders.

The students selected, along with their guests, will be invited to attend the statewide Awards Banquet. The Governor, the Commissioner of Education, and other dignitaries will be invited. Each student will receive a plaque with his or her name on it signifying the honor.  Ms. Jacqui Delano, Ms. Stephanie Rae, and Mr. Greg Thomas also attended.

Congrats, Sam and Keira! You are sensational representatives of our Nichols Middle School Community.
